To my forever Valentine… thank you for being MY Valentine… and for the beautiful flowers! ILY
Soooo... work was busy… so much going on! I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again… I’m so grateful to be working on a team that works together, can’t imagine working any other way!! A few of the little one’s will be returning to on-campus learning in small cohorts in the next couple weeks, which means new beginnings, excitement, and lots to do! Fingers crossed it goes as smoothly as it can with so many new guidelines! Patience everyone… patience!
For my treatments, weekly is obviously weekly… but it’s sure seems the weeks go faster since I switched to weekly infusions… especially since I’m ‘chemoie’ for 48 hrs afterwards, and meds for 4 days. This past week I had an almost ‘mid-chemo’ ultrasound (as I'm not quite 1/2 way through the schedule), something I requested early on. Apparently this isn’t normal practice… but regardless it was done and I’m thrilled that the results are positive, meaning that the chemo is doing it’s thing, shrinking my 2 tumors… the one we’re most excited about is the one in my lymph node… so yay for good news! Side effects are still happening, yet I feel they are somewhat minor, but there’s a variety of them. They come and go pretty quickly and so far they don’t all appear at the same time.
There’s some amazing organizations out there, some I was already aware of, others I’ve just recently learned about to do the generosity of some amazing friends. I will be sharing them in my upcoming blogs. I do not benefit personally, I just want to share them so that you can help either those who you know, that might be going through something similar or just support the organization because you choose to… or none of the above. Your choice, no pressure whatsoever.
Love Your Melon
You’ve seen me sport this beanie. I discovered them a couple years ago during our Banks family Christmas gift exchange. I got to buy for my youngest brother-in-law… and one of the items on his list was a beanie. I searched for beanies, and discovered LYM! I thought it was a nice-looking beanie, sounded warm, AND best part was they give 50% of their net profits to nonprofits in the fight against pediatric cancer. The latter being the most intriguing, as supporting cancer organizations has been something we’ve done for years. And now going through this myself, I can’t even imagine children going through this, let alone their parents. They give beanies to children battling cancer. But also if you or someone you know needs a new beanie… I highly recommend them! Check them out... loveyourmelon.com
Some beautiful gifts arrived this week, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them all…
First from my oldest younger sister, a beautiful cross necklace… as I’m sure you can understand packages from Greece are so very special to me and wearing the beautiful jewelry my sisters send me brings me an even stronger connection to them… makes 6,000 miles seem like nothing (well, almost)! And yes the amazing ‘knitting machine’ (aka my mom) brought me yet another slouchie beanie… I love it so much! And then two dozen of the most beautiful yellow roses were delivered… thank you G, they’re absolutely gorgeous… and yes, I will keep it up!! And then, the sweetest care package arrived from the sweetest family… thank you B family! What a true ‘care’ package, with so much care and love all wrapped up in a single box. Love you ALL!!
Have a great week…
love hearing from you…
and if I don’t get back to you right away, know that I may be working, sleeping, or maybe just sorta emotional (yep, it still happens), but I read every text, email, message and card... and I promise to respond.
Next treatment… Feb 22
