Chemo Day 2

Well... it went well!! Similar to Day 1 actually... and I'm sooo soo relieved. Breakfast looks a little different nowdays... but it works. After my appointment, I had a little lunch, then worked the remainder of the day. Then had a nice baked chicken, rice, and broccoli dinner... and now ice cream is calling my name, and that's what I call another good day. I have to stay the course for the next few days with my meds, but I anticipate all will continue as it has. I am now one-eighth through my treatment schedule... 'one more step closer' as a dear friend of mine shared. I know side affects are coming ~ 1 day at a time ~ one of my many mottos!

So while I was at my appointment this morning, a little elf from the office delivered an amazing bag full of amazing gifts... books, a blanket, scarf, beanies (gonna need these), candle, puzzle books, tissues (you know me), tea, socks, lotion, candy (yum), note cards, honey sticks, a beautiful pocket angel, a bracelet with a special meaning, and some gift cards that came with a personal message from someone with a family member in a similar situation. There are no words to express my sincere gratitude... I love you all and appreciate you, your messages and gifts more than you know.

As I reflect on the day, I'm truly blessed. I received a beautiful candle decoration... I find candles warm and calming, so find myself burning them more and more lately. Light a candle and try it out if you haven't lately... I think you'll like it!

I want to share with you about my incredible team at City of Hope... they make a scary process bearable with their kind, caring but highly knowledgable staff... every one of them! I trust them all!!! But I am taken aback by the number of people going through this nasty disease... the numbers are mindblowing. We need a cure for this 6-letter bad word that starts with 'c'! Oh, and I'm purposely using lowercase because that's all it deserves! Here's to a cure, and here's to a beautiful week to you and yours!
